A good buddy of mine is writing a fanfic that takes place hundreds of years in the future of UC Gundam, and asked me to help him design the mechs that appear in it. So it's pretty much a blank slate with requirements that the stuff look more advanced than V Gundam. Here's a grunty bad guy mech, the Hyperion.
